Play Allies vs Axis in this funny mobile FPS shooter that brings back WW2 exactly the way we don’t remember it. Experience immersive fun, humor and frustration all at the same time. Mimics an on-line multi-player game classic that almost everybody loves, brought to life in this mobile game re-incarnation.
Have you ever wondered what would probably look like if the 2 opposing forces, the Blu and the Red where the Allies against the Axis powers of WW2. Look no further, Blitz Brigade from Gameloft is a mobile multi-player FPS that sports a look and feel game play that somewhat mimics the venerable FPS shooter from Valve. Though being toted as a rip-off of TF2, Blitz Brigade actually brings in a new FPS gaming experience with a tongue-in-cheek comedy similar to TF2 with an again similar look and feel but with a totally different storyline. You choose sides and the class of soldier you want to play.
Blitz Brigade, free and safe download. Blitz Brigade latest version: Have Fun Destroying All Before You. Download steam games free. Blitz Brigade is an all-action first person. This time it's by bringing Blitz Brigade, the equivalent of a certain super-popular, cartoony, team-based PC first-person shooter to iOS devices.
Axis means the Germans and the Japs (the one with the funny hat) while Allies means England, America, France and the rest. You can either be a Soldier, Gunner, Medic, Sniper or Stealth (Spy) which gives reason for shouting TF2 rip-off. Game modes include Domination where you capture Flag locations on the map, Death match where you kill, kill and kill (or the other way around) and Capture the Flag where you grab their flag and head back to base (ever played Unreal Tournament?). Each multi-player match can hold 12 players (six on each side) and the maps are awesome and huge like the Cathedral map, Madagascar and the Malta Docks. Should you want to play by yourself, you can do so as there are more than a hundred single player missions to complete. The classes have their own specialized weapons for use and there are more than a hundred weapons that can be unlocked.
This will require you to bring out your plastic card as the game uses the micro-transaction pay if you want to get ahead in the game for weapons, boosts and other specials. Regardless, the standard game is Free2Play and if you really don’t want to spend, then don’t. You’ll enjoy the game just the same as it will really immerse you in this goofy WW2 scenario of sorts. Not only do you have an arsenal of weapons at your disposal but vehicles too. You can get into a jeep, a clunky Sherman Tank and a helicopter. A helicopter in the middle of WW2, yeh, right.
Oh, and there’s a Mustang sitting on an airfield. It looks awesome but too bad it can’t take off. Well, never mind, it’s fun to play. Vehicles however, though they give advantages like the devastating power from the tanks cannon, will leave you highly exposed to gunfire. Yep, you can take down the tank with the weapons you have and these vehicles are vulnerable.
Also they’re kind of difficult to maneuver. If you’re used to playing using the keyboard, chances are you’ll grope your way through the game until you can really get the feel for it.
Oh, there’s a Mustang sitting on an airfield. It looks awesome but too bad it can’t take off. Blitz Brigade runs under Android and iOS for mobile devices and that means a lot of tapping on the screen. The controls are clunky, Joystick on the left and Fire button on the right. Important info during the game pops up on screen and some are really funny that even if you’re having difficulty with the controls you’ll probably be laughing your way through.
Aside from the really good looking and huge maps (by mobile game standards) the animation graphics are quite fluid. You really can’t compare the game to TF2 that runs on a fast and powerful PC but the graphics of Blitz Brigade can stand on its own. The sound effects are okay, the voice-overs are funny and the music is awesome (someone is hollering rip-off again!). Nancy drew secrets can kill remastered ending. The taunt option can really make your opponents mad. It’s a great game and really fun to play.
Despite its setbacks which include having to be online even for single player mode, disconnection and re-connection problems and maps that don’t loop or change, hopefully Gameloft will address these deficiencies soon. Regardless, the game is highly recommended and will provide lots of fun if you enjoy funny FPS games.
