The server is live but with no monsters. If you would like to connect go to Setup Endless Online and type eo-funhouse.no-ip.org where the old IP for Legit EO is.

Sometimes it happens. You take a break from something online and you come back to realize you can't even remember your account name. Since EO has no working recovery system at the moment you might feel you're shit out of luck. You're wrong. You always are. I've got two methods that can recover your account name provided you have logged onto that account before on the computer you're currently using.

I'll repeat this for you slow ones in the back, okay? These methods will only work if you've logged onto the account before on the computer you're are currently using. These methods are to recover the account name only, not the password. Now that we've cleared that up for the stupid ones let's continue, shall we?Method 1. EOHelpcentre.exeEOHelpcentre was a piece of software designed to help solve a few common problems encountered in Endless Online as well as to help players easily manage and recover their accounts. It was taken off the downloads section of Endless-Online.com a few years ago and hasn't been seen since. I've got a copy available for download listed below you may use if you wish at your own risk. Given the state of the community within Endless Online, it's understandable people will be weary of downloads. If you're skeptical of this method you can proceed to the next method and I'll show you how to recover it manually without downloading anything.Goto to download EOHelpcentre.Once you've downloaded EOHelpcentre open it up and head over to the last tab labelled 'Password recovery help'.

You'll notice a drop down box half-way down labelled 'Your account name'. This drop down list will contain any account name you have used to login to EO on the computer you're currently using.(click to enlarge)Obviously where you see 'CENSORED' your account name(s) will be. I blurred mine out cause my head hasn't been repeatedly smacked with bricks, as of yet. You've got your account name you stupid bastard.Method 2. Your RegistryI'm going to say this once slowly so you can understand me.' Look, don't touch.'

The registry serves a vitally important role for Windows and if you mess something up here it would serve you right for not listening. Let's continue, shall we?Step 1. Click start, type 'Regedit' and press enter. For those of you on an older version of Windows you'll have to open the Run box and type this in there.(click to enlarge)Step 2.

The Windows Registry Editor will open up. You'll see a list to the left much like you would in Windows Explorer. Navigate your way through to 'HKEYCURRENTUSERSoftwareEndless Online'. Explore the sub-folders and you'll find there is a folder dedicated to every account and character you've played on the computer you're currently using. You've just recovered your account name!(click to enlarge)Obviously, once again, I've blurred out my account name.

Hello, I got interested in ARK and consequently so did my friends. Now I wonder how difficult it would be to host a private server for us to play on, Don't Starve Together style.Since neither of us got a spare computer to host the server on, or want to buy a dedicated server at this point in development. I am curious how difficult is it to setup a server on the same computer you play on?

For instance am using a laptop with 16gig of ram and i7-4700MQ, will I get a significant performance hit?Is Play Local lan enabled? Aka if I start playing on my local save, will people who's on LAN be able to join me? From what I've gathered, all hosting is currently done 'through' their server. So there's not currently true 'LAN' support, you must be able to contact their servers.Survivor, Nissalee asks, “Will we have the option to fully play with just LAN worlds?”Answer:This is something we are currently working on, we hope to have it ready in the upcoming weeks. The idea is for the game to support non-dedicated hosts for smaller groups of players, and they will be listed separately rather than regular servers in order to avoid confusion.edit forgot to mention, that's from aSo eventually it will be in.That said, I don't know how good your laptop is, but I would be concerned about the graphics card's capability of keeping up with the game. I have an i7 with 16 gigs at work and if I load it up, I have to load it with the lowest graphics settings and it's still choppy. At home I have an i5 with 8 gigs of RAM and a 7870, and it runs fairly smoothly.I know they're making improvements to the server's resource usage, but based on reports I've read I would think that you would suffer serious performance hits, but YMMV of course.

It's actually pretty easy. And yes, LAN play does work.Just go into ARK, hit host (configure to your liking). It will close your game, and launch a server console. At that point, go re-launch the game manually (ShooterGame.exe in the game folder). In about 10-15 minutes it should finish loading up and be displayed in the LAN list. This is how I had mine running to play with my fiancee before I dug out my old server and got it up and running.

I suspect you'll be fine with 16gb and an i7, I have very similar specs. If I can help you out, let me know! Thanks for replies.@Ratneck, graphical performance at this stage is not very important. Tested it earlier today and I actually managed to gain about 20ish frames due to the last updates. Running on 2x780M in SLI.

As for LAN, we still have internet so if the game has to connect to their servers for whatever reason, god bless the code.@Prov, omg dat loading time! Thanks for the tip about starting shootergame manually (hope they change the name soon), last time I tried it I could not launch the game and thought I was doing something wrong. So in theory, if I got all the right ports open I could play my friends over the internet while being in local mode by using Hamachi or similar lan emulator. @Prov or anyone else, if I go in to the menu and click Host, it will shut the game down and open a console, and I will also have to start the game again manually from the.exe. Now, what ports do I have to open for my friends to join?

And is there anything else you must do to allow others to join your server? Most of the people on the server are on the same Modem/Router, so they are all 'LAN' and maybe a couple others elsewhere which might make me need to forward ports. Also, besides customized all the bars in the menu, how do I name the server so others know what it is? Ports required:7777, 27015 (UDP & TCP, or so I'm told)Open those in your computer firewall, and if you want to play online, port forward it through your router/modem/whathaveyou.

I'm not sure on naming the server; I run my server through the dedicated client acquired via SteamCMD, so it's a bit different. I'd recommend if you want your server online like all the time, use that method, so it stays separate from your own steam account/stuff.@Zing, really no need to use Hamachi.

If you open up the ports, your server will just show in the unofficial list. Also if you're interested, our server is feeling a little lonely lately. Basically PvP enabled but no raiding/pking allowed. Kind of a consensual/just for laughs pvp deal.

Hoping to get enough people around to do some CTF and that kind of thing. We also have taming time reduced by 25%, slightly increased resource gathering (until they fix the 'overdamage' thing they did.) Otherwise, official server setup.
