Posted: 31 MarchI didn't hate this game by any means, it was moderately entertaining-but it's simply not worth $20. I beat the game in less than 2 hours, and the only reason I'm at 3 hours is because I went back to unlock a few achievements (which are incredibly tedious, by the way) and because I paused for a bit to microwave and eat some chicken nuggets. The graphics aren't bad, the ambiance is immersive enough, but the puzzles were few and VERY easy. (I found only one puzzle challenging, which probably took me 20 minutes of guesswork because there is no indication in the puzzle itself of a solution and I refuse to look up solutions online.)As someone with an academic background in philosophy, I found it mildly entertaining but mostly. A few epistemological questions are raised, but no great point is made and ultimately the incessant voice-over with its face-palmingly indulgent, self-referential script is entirely irrelevant to the gameplay itself. The voice actor was great though, so there's that. All of that said, if you like pseudo-intellectual musings rambling on as you solve easy puzzles in a walking-simulator, you'll enjoy this game. If you want a game that does everything this game does, but better: Play The Talos Principle.
