Recently Krushna Abhishek took over from Kapil Sharma in a famous comedy daily Soap by Colors “Comedy Night with Kapil” and made it “Comedy Nights Live”, as we know the response for later was devastatingly negative. Here’s an analysis based on feedbacks from Social media to see audience sentiments and likeability around the new show.
To be fair, Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh and Sudesh Lehri did try to make us laugh, but it was this trio that upped the show's cool quotient
We understand that replacing Comedy Nights with Kapil is no mean feat. This is why we decided to review the second episode of Comedy Nights Live as well. Though there's considerable mud-slinging going around, Sunday night's episode was like a second opportunity at wowing the audience. The actors were also blessed to have the charismatic Katrina Kaifand Aditya Roy Kapur's in their midst as part of Fitoor's promotions. Here is a lowdown of the highs and lows.. Unlike the first episode where Krushna and Bharti took sly digs ate the earlier residents of the 'house', this episode was free of the reference of Kapil Sharma at least for the greater period. They also indulged in some self-deprecating humour, which was evidence of the fact that they knew the sentiments of the audience. Throughout the episode, judge Mika Singh was in great spirits. He sang numbers like Gandi Baat, Saawan Main Lag Gayee Aag and Jumma from Kick much to the delight of the audience. Mika laughed at all the jokes and looked involved.

Fitoor actor Aditya Roy Kapur is rarely seen on such platforms. However, Aditya tried to enjoy himself to the hilt and even crooned a few lines of Sun Raha Hai Na Tu from Aashiqui. He participated in all the gags sportingly.
Some of the lines on the show did make us. Krushna's opening sequence was quite nice like was his drag act at the end. Sudesh Lehri was also quite good though his timing with Upasana Singh needs to get better.
The star attraction was Salman Khan who dropped in for five minutes to say Hi to Katrina Kaif.
What's not
Bharti Singh's act as the little boy Chintu Singh is getting annoying. It needs to change. We love her impersonations of little children but this one is too boring.
Upasana Singh mouthed some of the lines like she did in Comedy Nights with Kapil. However, some of them fell flat as she did not have the company of earlier co-stars.
While Aditya seemed to be having fun Katrina looked rather bored throughout the show. Moreover, she far from a glamorous diva. The actress was rather lacklustre in her appearance.
Comedy Nights Live v/s Comedy Nights with Kapil
The two episodes of Comedy Nights Live has established that we will see a set pattern on the show. It will be one of disguises, drag, dance and one-liners. It should be noted that even Comedy Nights with Kapil had a format in the way the show panned out. We guess Krushna and team will need a little more time.
Comedy Nights Live needs to work a little more on its celebrity engagement. The stars had very little to do on the show, which is perhaps why they felt bored.
We saw a variety of characters on Comedy Nights with Kapil. In comparison, there are very few people on stage in Comedy Nights Live. Perhaps some stand-up comedians can be brought in-between for small solo acts. The current cast needs more time to get everything in sync.
Lastly, they really need to work on the gags. There were a few hilarious lines in yesterday's episode but the one that evoked maximum laughter seemed straight out of a porn - com film. This kind of humour might not gel with family audiences in the long run.
